About the Organization
APICS -
The Association for Operations Management is the global leader
and premier source of the body of knowledge in operations management,
including production, inventory, supply chain, materials management,
purchasing, and logistics. Since 1957, individuals and companies
have relied on APICS for its superior training, internationally
recognized certifications, comprehensive resources, and worldwide
network of accomplished industry professioanals. Today APICS
enjoys 42,000 members worldwide.

About the Local APICS Chapter
The
Champlain Valley Chapter
APICS was founded in December of 1982 and has been actively providing
networking and educational opportunities to professionals in the
manufacturing and business environment. As of March 2010, the
organization has 69 individual members which includes 48 professionals,
20 students, and 1 academic. These
members represent a wide variety of industries and backgrounds, but
they all have one
thing in common; the need for education and to become employees who
have
a grasp
of the intricacies of materials and business management.
Mission Statement
The
Mission
of
the
Champlain
Valley
APICS Chapter is
to
support the growth of our chapter by providing APICS educational and
networking
opportunities to our members and the local business community. We will
achieve
our mission by meeting the following goals:
- Offer at least two each
manufacturing
related courses per schedule year.
- Offer at least two APICS
Certification
review courses per schedule year.
- Recruit and develop
motivated
individuals for the chapter board of directors.
- Regularly measure
our performance, review our successes, and react as necessary to
fulfill our
mission.
