APICS CPIM Recertification
Exam
APICS is pleased to announce that a new certification product
is being
developed this year. The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory
Management (CPIM) Recertification Exam was approved by the APICS
Leadership
Team in February 2010. Read more on our education page.
The LEAN Workshop
This workshop will have seven meetings over a course of
several week. You will learn to:
- Complete a self-assessment to determine your

Mission Statement
Chapter Goals
The Mission of the Champlain Valley APICS Chapter is to
support the growth of our chapter by providing APICS educational and
networking opportunities to our members and the local business
community. We will achieve our mission by meeting the following goals:
- Offer at least two each manufacturing related courses per
schedule
year.
- Offer at least two APICS Certification review
courses per schedule year.
- Recruit and develop motivated individuals for the
chapter board of directors.
- Regularly measure our performance, review our
successes, and react as necessary to fulfill our mission.

Competency Model
Are you APICS? "The structure of the APICS
Supply Chain Manager
Competency Model follows guidelines set by the Employment and
Training
Administration
of
the United States Department of Labor. The model is
visually represented in a diagram for easy reference. The model is
organized into tiers of competencies and includes descriptions of the
activities and behaviors associated with each competency."

CPIM Class Schedule
Basics of Supply Chain Management
The next CPIM course
is scheduled to start on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the IBM campus in
Essex. Class will meet weekly on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. The
first class will be The Basics of Supply Chain Management.
Classes usually meet until 9pm and are generally finished in seven

What makes the Champlain Valley APICS chapter unique among
APICS chapters is our close affiliation with other proffesional
organizations in the area. Twice a year, by the name of TPC, (The
Professional's Collaboration), networking meetings are held in which
members from different industries and disciplines can come together to
mingle, discuss recent topics and hear guest speakers. What
better way to meet make new friends, see old ones and get together with
people that have the same interests and commitment that you do to
ongoing education and training in the workplace.
